The first day of the Battle of the Somme had the greatest loss of life in British Army history - out of nearly 60,000 casualties, a third were fatalities.

As we mark the 110th anniversary of this offensive, this exhibition explores the different perspectives of those who experienced the carnage first-hand, from regular soldiers to officers, from those who survived to those who were amongst the tragic loss of life in the bloodiest battle of the Great War.
