Exhibition: Victory 80: The Royal Warwickshire Regiment and the End of World War Two

A new temporary exhibition to commemorate the 80th anniversary of VE (Victory in Europe) Day invites you to explore the incredible final days of World War 2 in Europe.
Witness the role of Royal Warwickshire Regiment in the last crucial stages of the War, while learning about key figures and the role they played.
On display will be rare and remarkable objects linked to the surrender of Germany, including pieces of tile from Hitler’s cloakroom in the Chancellory in Berlin. The exhibition will also reveal the true story of how the regiment acquired a live antelope, its iconic mascot, from a Hamburg Zoo.

Saturday 10th of May, Warwick Courthouse.
A day of Amongst the speakers are grandson of Field Marshal Montgomery, Henry, 3rd Viscount of Alamein, and author Peter Hart. They will offer vivid details of the final days of WW2, from personal stories to tactical analyses, and the crucial contributions of the Royal Warwickshire Regiment.
Victory 80 Fun in the Whitsun Holidays
For the Whitsun half-term there will be educational craft activities for kids, including making flags and medals. We will also have impersonators of Field Marshal Montgomery and his war office colleagues in their ‘War Room’.
